Blankets for Kamp Kiwanis Kids

Making children feel loved, one child at a time!
WHAT:
Last summer Kelly Falardeau & her kids Alex, Cody and Parker gave blankets to burn kids at camp. This summer they want to help underprivileged disadvantaged children at Kamp Kiwanis.
They want to give every kid who attends Kamp Kiwanis a blanket, a total of 500 blankets! AND WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE. :)
Rosie got burnt when she was only 16 months old in a house fire. This is her at the hospital. She will have to wear the pressure garments for two years so her scarring is minimized.
This is Rosie now, wrapped in her blanket. She's out of the hospital but still requires surgeries so she can run and play like other kids her age.
When you were a kid, did you ever feel like everyone hated you and the whole world was against you?
Maybe you felt like there would be no end to the pain and might have thought you just didn't want to live any more?
In today's society, children are feeling bullied, unloved, and unwanted. We would like to change that by giving each kid at Kamp Kiwanis a blanket that says "You are Loved, You are Needed, You are Wanted" so that on those days when the kid doesn't feel loved, needed or wanted, they can wrap themselves in a blanket.
WHAT WILL THE FUNDS BE USED FOR:
To purchase 500 blankets so each kid will receive one at summer camp.
HOW SOON DO WE NEED THE MONEY:
Summer camp starts in July, so we would love to have the money by the beginning of June, 2017.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
You can help by sponsoring as many blankets as you can. No donation is too big or too small. You can also help by sharing this with your friends and family so we can spread the word.
Let's help these underprivileged and disadvantaged kids to feel more love for the rest of their lives. We all love blankets, especially cuddly, warm ones.
We know the kids will keep these blankets forever as a constant reminder that they are loved, needed and wanted. We want every kid to feel like summer camp is an amazing time with lots of love, educational opportunities, fun and adventures.
KAMP KIWANIS:
Kamp Kiwanis is an overnight summer camp for underprivileged or disadvantaged children, an outdoor school, and a facility that community groups may rent to run their own programs.
It was founded in 1951 by the Kiwanis Club of Calgary. Kamp Kiwanis welcomes over 11,000 campers, students, and community members to our facility every year.
They have 4 mandates that guide all their programs:
1. Serve underprivileged children and their families
2. To educate about the environment
3. To educate the young and old
4. To maintain economic sustainability
LOCATION:
Kamp Kiwanis is located near Bragg Creek, Alberta (23km West of Calgary). Our driveway is located just off the traffic circle where highway 22 and highway 8 meet.
