Stephen Blake Davis passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Blake was born in Dallas, Texas on December 16, 1974. From early childhood days, he always had a passion for everything sports, and he was a gifted baseball player. He graduated from South Garland High School in 1993 and went on to play baseball at McLennan County Community College. Shortly thereafter, he was given the opportunity to pursue his lifelong dream of playing college baseball at The University of Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997.
Blake married his high school sweetheart, Carol Prewitt, in December of 1997. He began working for the Prewitt family business, Landmark Nurseries. After much success and business development, Blake and Carol were able to achieve another lifelong dream of creating and opening their own business, Crave Popcorn Co. in 2014.
Blake was a deeply devoted husband and father. Carol, Cole and Meg brought him so much joy and were his most treasured blessings. He was also loved by countless friends, and he cherished his lifelong friendships. Those fortunate enough to have known him understand the depth of his kind heart. His loud belly laugh, compliments, and bear hugs were one of a kind.
Blake is survived by his beautiful wife, Carol Nicole, two beautiful children, Coleman Blake (15) and Meg Madelyn (11), his mother and father, Larry and Marilyn Davis, his sister, Betsy Cummins and her husband, Alden and their children, Caroline Grace (9) and Carden Davis(6) and many extended family and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Blake’s love of baseball, Blake’s family is requesting memorial contributions to be made to the Blake Davis Baseball Memorial Fund. Donations will be used to purchase equipment for underprivileged players on the South Garland Baseball team so that they can have the same opportunities that Blake did at South Garland High School.
