Black Power Birthday Hour Wish
Hi! My name is Tia Price and I am the Workforce Development and High School Manager at Wide Angle Youth Media. Wide Angle teaches Baltimore students media skills like photography, video, and graphic design. My job is to mentor students throughout the year and run workforce development program during the summer.
This year our students chose to research and create media projects around the theme “Why Black Lives Matter”. I would love nothing more than to spend my birthday, Feb. 17th, celebrating Blackness with my students by watching Black Panther!
Your donation today will help to make my birthday wish of a Black Panther screening for my students possible.
And if we can hit my goal, it will be even more special. I’d like to raise enough money to take all of my students to the movie, treat them to lunch, AND for them to come back on Monday to an announcement that enough funding has been raised to give a student that chance to become a part-time staff member with us. It takes $1,800 to support one student’s PT salary.
Dinner and Black Panther on my birthday with all of my students will be amazing, but also knowing that this campaign can lead to one more student in the workforce would make my year.
Thank you for helping to make my birthday wish come true - every dollar counts!
Please note: This is an event outside of Wide Angle programming. Your donation would be a gift for me to accomplish birthday wish and would not be tax deductible. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
