Black Sheep Fibre Works - Help get us started!
There is a sad state of affairs in Winchester, VA.
There is no community yarn store.
No place to sit and knit or crochet. No one to talk to when you hit a snag in your current project or if you just want a friendly face to chat about yarn with. No where to actually feel and touch the yarn that you need for a prized shawl, or your next pair of hand knit socks.
Brandon DeHaven (my business partner, fellow knitter, and long time friend,) and I are in the process of changing that, but we need your help!
The first step in the process is obtaining an LLC (limited liability company,) and filing the legal paperwork that ties into that. The process is much easier if there is a lawyer involved, which is the route that we want to go. With legal help, we will be starting our business on the right foot, and become one step closer to opening an actual brick and mortar yarn store for YOU!
We are asking for help with the startup costs, which covers the cost of setting up an LLC in the state of Virginia, and the legal fees. Once obtained, we can then apply for a small business loan. But we can’t do that without the proper and legal paperwork under our belts. We have a full business plan available for anyone who would like to view it. Please contact me if you wish to do so.
Any amount that you can donate will help! We hope that you will give with our objective and goal in mind; to create a community. A safe and reliable space where you can knit, crochet, and/or spin yarn. Where you no longer have to rely on the internet to purchase yarn and notions. A place where you are always welcome to shop, create, and learn.
