Black AND Woman is a powerful documentary series that will recenter the narrative about Black Women. Black Women have a specific, and UNIQUE bond to America that no other demographic can claim. The Black Woman's contribution to America is often overlooked, dismissed, denied, and marginalized.
This documentary aims to examine and address a myriad of angles that are germane to the Black Woman. A powerful cast will contribute their thoughts, perspectives, and expertise. The cast includes: Dr. Shantella Sherman, Dr. Julianne Malveaux, Impress Phile Chionesu, Elaine Riddick, Dr. Satira Streeter, Vashti Dubois, Anthony Browder, Abiodun Oyewole of The Last Poets, Dr. Wilmer Leon, and more.
Your contributions mean a great deal in bringing this into full effect. The production of documentaries are expensive. This is an ongoing series, thus expenses resurface. I've been working extra hours and saving out of my own pocket for this, and it is costly as an independent content creator.
Your contributions will help with: licensing rights , fees of archival photos and video footage, travel to cast members locations, securing film screening venues, miscellaneous equipment needs of audio/video/ and editing, and scoring of the film series.
The first episode is slated for a spring 2019 release.
