Bishop Needs a Hand
Who am I?
My name is Ben Myers. I'm known in some parts of he gaming community as Bishop Steiner. I have autism, or as it used to be referred, Asperger's Syndrome. I work as much as my anxiety issues and such allow, as an English teacher in Mexico, and as a free lance science fiction artist, for games like Battletech.
Why do I choose to live in Mexico? Because with my compromised executive function and chronic severe anxiety, I simply cannot work consistently enough, to afford to live in the USA. And for the first almost 5 years I was down here, that was working out OK for me, as I can survive down here by simply making 400-500 USD a month.
Starting 2 years ago, I had to leave town for what turned into 6 months to care for my mother's estate when she passed, and to set my disabled brother Ray for independent living. Then after, I was having to ravel back and forth between the USA and Mexico, up until this summer when my brother passed of a sudden heart attack.
During that time not only was I not able to hold down a job due to family needs, but work that was supposed to be done and finished on my apartment never was, allowing it to flood, while I was gone, and stay with 6 inches of standing water on the floor, until I returned.
This and some other unfinished work cost me my refrigerator, microwave and my washing machine, on top of my work computer being fried because of the electrical grounding never being installed as promised. This isn't counting the amount of cloths, etc that I had to throw away due to mold infestation.
Anyhow, I've been able to scrape by, but aside from some temporary repairs to the washing machine, have not been able to get on my feet enough to cover any additional things, like replacing the destroyed appliances.
What brought me back to this, is my washer finally dying for good, and sitting here with 34$ in my bank account. I'm generally too proud to ask for help. It's one off my biggest flaws. But I also don't know what else to do. I have work lined up to pay my rent, etc but I never seem to be able to get ahead of the curve, so that any time I have to replace something major, end up at the hospital, the hole just gets bigger.
I also know some folks don't like to contribute through GoFundMe, because hey do take a percentage, and then PayPal takes another percentage off of that. If folks want o short circuit that, I can be reached directly, via friend and family, at PayPal. I'll be happy to furnish the address via PM, but don't want to publish it directly to avoid spam, etc.
