On February 23th, our Nephew William or Billy (as he is known to most) McLoughlin suffered heart failure and is currently being treated at North Shore University Hospital.  The best course of treatment is a heart transplant; unfortunately, his bigger than life heart, will be hard to replace and even if there was a heart big enough he currently is not a candidate.  So the next course of action, once he is well enough, is a Ventricular Assist Device.  Once received, recovery and adjustment to life with the VAD will take time.  This is the third tragedy that this family has faced in the last 7 years and one of the most difficult because Billy is a single Dad to three boys – William (20), Theodore (19), and Jack (13) and a small business owner (who is not eligible for disability).  While the Community in which they live continues to provide an infinite amount of support the lack of income and growing bills are insurmountable.  Please consider making a donation to our family.
