As a 2017 Tallahassee Top Single, I have chosen to support #bigbendgivesback. This is important to me because philanthropy changes lives and by supporting #bigbendgivesback it supports all non-profits.
Big Bend Gives Back (BBGB) is a coalition of approximately 300 nonprofit organizations that have joined forces to promote volunteerism and philanthropy in the Big Bend Region. The BBGB campaign springs from #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
BBGB was launched in 2015 to raise awareness about the #GivingTuesday movement and to localize it within the Big Bend Region. Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday – to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Your donations will support the website, unselfie competition, marketing and prizes.
The BBGB organizing committee includes volunteers from the Big Bend Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Community Foundation of North Florida, the Council on Culture and Arts, the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence, United Partners for Human Services and the United Way of the Big Bend.
