What's This About?
The Stars Big Heart Celebrity Challenge Hockey Tournament is a fundraiser benefiting both the Dallas Stars Foundation and the American Heart Association. The Dallas Stars Foundation's mission is to invest in communities by creating unique programs that nurture and enrich the lives of those in need. The American Heart Association is a non-profit organization in the United States that fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Why Am I Receiving This?
Derick Schaefer (CTO) and Christian Gunaseelan (Finance) have been invited to play on a team at this event. Outside of their team's fundraising efforts they put together this campaign for co-workers who were interested in supporting this this cause.
The Event
This hockey challenge combines local amateur hockey teams with former Dallas Stars players to complete in a one day tournament. A day before the event, each team will get to draft one former NHL great to help them try and win the hockey tournament. The event is so exciting that Derick Schaefer is coming out of a 1 1/2 year retirement to join in on the fun and the fundraising. Of course he recruited Christian immediately! Your support is much appreciated.
We will give out a schedule of the games for anyone who wants to come out and cheer us on.
