BHS Staff Appreciation Spring Fling

Please help fund our staff event!
Our Berkeley High School professional development (PD) team is working to cultivate a more culturally responsive organization by unifying our staff. Concretely, we are intentionally creating spaces to connect our classified and certificated staff members. We believe that the better we know each other, the stronger our relationships and the more unified our school will be. If our staff is able to unify across difference, we can model the kind of school we dream is possible.
As you may know, Berkeley High School has experienced a challenging last couple of years having lost too many students and staff members in tragic ways. Berkeley High has also experienced several racist acts on campus in these last couple of years.
As an action step to combat low staff morale and isolation, common features of a large organizations such as ours, our next step is to build staff unity at our staff event titled, The Berkeley High Staff Appreciation Spring Fling.
This work builds on the November 7th Community Building Breakfast that we held for all staff. Thank you so much if you were one of the many families who donated food or your time volunteering for the event.
Please help us bring our vision to fruition! This event will bring music, life, and laughter to our hardworking staff members at Berkeley High School - and this is all staff: counselors, teaching assistants, safety officers, teachers, administrators, our BHS maintenance crew, custodial staff, food service workers, and office support staff. This is an opportunity for us to network with each other so we can better support each other.
Your donations will help us hold an appreciation gathering at La Peña Cultural Center. We will socialize, dance, enjoy live music, and eat a light dinner with libations. We will be structuring in opportunities for staff members to get to know each other at this event and will take photos to share at the end of the year all-staff professional development meeting.
