Funeral Service Fund for Barbara Frazier

My mother, Barbara Frazier, suffered a stroke September 16th in the early morning hours at her home. Her provider found and heard her as she was pleading for help as she was having a hard time breathing and moving. She was rushed from her home to the local hospital helipad for LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann in downtown Houston. When she arrived, she was responsive, but couldn't speak any tangible words.

We waited in trauma with her for hours until she was moved into the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit where she spent the rest of her days. That night, the swelling in her brain became severe and she was losing responsiveness and was having a hard time breathing. She was then taken for intubation, MRI, followed by an immediate craniotomy. The following day upon my arrival, she was minimally responsive and couldn't open her eyes anymore. That is when I knew she wasn't going to make it.

As they tried to figure out why she wasn't coming out of the surgery, they did another MRI. They found she had 2 additional strokes during the surgery, one of which was directly in her brain stem. The chances were slim, but the doctors were still optimistic. Upon arrival in the early morning of the 20th, we received word that her vitals were dropping. Her heart couldn't handle even a CT scan without flat-lining. They had told us that this was going to be unrecoverable due to the swelling be so severe. After much talking with heavy hearts, we put our faith in God's hands to do what was right and gave the order to remove life support. She passed within minutes, calmly, without pain, without suffering; as Jesus took her in his arms.

The problem is that my family is on a fixed income as I just started my own company after being let go from my previous job. My wife just started her job, and we are already behind on a ton of bills. Her life insurance will cover some of the service fees, however, it won't cover them all.

Anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.

All unused funds will be donated to THE AMERICAN STROKE FOUNDATION.
