Beth's Breast Cancer Recovery Fund

     We all know that feeling when we cross paths with someone who radiates so much positive energy and light, that our day, our week, our life is transformed. Beth Boyd is one of these sweet, kind, humble, and quietly powerful people who has dedicated her life’s work to improving the lives of others. Whether her work be teaching yoga, dance, giving massage, or sharing her knowledge of healing oils, this young woman’s presence brightens those around her on a level that goes beyond words.

      Beth has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread to the bones of her skull, cervical vertebrae, low back, spine, and hip. The discovery of this illness was a process, preceded by and continued with intense pain, which nearly prevented Beth from being able to complete her Esthetician’s License.

      Beth intended to only be in Florida through the winter while going to school, so she held onto her Colorado Medicaid insurance during that time.  Now that she is staying in Florida, she is still in the process of being insured, as she has been denied Medicaid in the state of Florida.  Beth has received grants to put towards the western medicines; the cost of a monthly co-pay for one of her medications is $10,000.

     Beth has a type of cancer that will need to be treated for the rest of her life.  At this time, there is no cure, but we hope that through ongoing medications and alternative therapies, her body can rebuild from the inside-out, and it will allow Beth to shine for many more years to come.

     Beth is committed to doing everything possible to rebuild her body.  She has already undergone radiation, and soon going to start a vigorous medication schedule, which includes pills to target and inhibit the cancer growth, monthly IV’s to help heal her bones, and injections as part of the anti-estrogen protocol; her form of cancer is hormone driven.

     This is a woman who has always taken care of her body, inspired others to do so, and while her illness baffles us, this is the path she is still following in the journey of healing cancer; whole foods, juicing, staying away from refined foods and sugars, buying organic produce, using CBD oils and salves to prevent tumor growth, amongst many other things.  Beth believes that in these alternative therapies lies treating the root of the disease; where the process of healing cancer is a continuous lifestyle.  These alternative yet profoundly effective ways of healing cancer are very costly.

     We need your help. Your donations will go directly to Beth’s cost of living, cost of medical care, medications, complementary therapies, as well as fund the opportunity for her to be treated at a world renowned alternative medical hospital called CHIPSA. She has throughly researched and spoken directly with Doctors from this hospital about a complementary treatment plan, in conjuction with the western methods of medicine.  She hopes to do this as her next line of therapy down the road.  This is a huge undertaking for someone who is going through the toughest battle of her life, and she needs our help.  Thank you so much for your contribution in empowering Beth's journey of healing, it is greatly appreciated and will help tremendously.

Much Love and Many Blessings to you!

* NUTRITIONAL RESPONSE TESTING
Beth is working with a holistic Doctor undergoing Nutrition Response Testing. This is a non-invasive system of analyzing causes of ill health.  Through advanced muscle testing the underlying health issues of weak organs are detected, and the proper nutritional supplements are given to strengthen, or cleanse; bringing the body back into balance.  Beth is seeing this doctor in conjunction with Western Medicine.  It is important to her to not only treat the symptoms as Western medicine does so well, but to get to the "ROOT" of the problem and nourish the body.  She sees this Doctor twice a week, it is $40 a visit, plus supplements ranging from$20-$200 each time, depending on what supplements are needed.

* MASSAGE THERAPY
Beth has been recieving massage at her Dad's house once a week.  It has helped her tremendously with the pain as well as increasing mobility.  It also helps to lift her spirits.  This is $70 per week.

* LIVING SPACE FOR BETH
Beth's family is in the process of transforming her sister's Lanai into a room, or "Healing Sanctuary" for Beth.  This will cost around $5,000.

* DONATIONS OF AIRLINE MILES APPRECIATED
These can help with the transit of her loving and caring friends to help provide care for Beth during this process.  It is hard for her to move about, as well as cook for herself, having extra support helps Beth and her family tremendously.   Beth would also love to take a couple trips (when she is well enough) back to Steamboat to reconnect with her beautiful community that has offered so much support.

We can not thank you enough for your contribution, in whatever capacity, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you   for empowering her healing journey.

Dear Family and Friends,For the past 2 months I have watched my health and body deteriorate at a rapid speed. Back spasms that would bring me to my knees, making it extremely difficult to move for days, not being able to lift my head off my pillow with out physically moving it with my hands, and a migraine headache that lasted for a month - that eventually sent me to the ER. Through 4 days of vigorous testing I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer, which has spread to the bones of my skull, cervical vertebrae, and low back. This is crazy unfamiliar territory for me as I always felt myself as healthy and strong. The pain is nothing like I have ever felt before, and moves around in my body. Experiencing and feeling my body go through this, and at times moving at a "100 year old Grandma-Turtle" pace, just puts me in awe shock.

Good News!? is that it has not spread to my brain, organs, spinal column, and there is no degenerative disease present. Good news!? is that it is a hormone driven form of cancer, which to my glory, can be treated (but not cured?) by radiation and hormone (anti-estrogen) medications. This is the best possible scenario for this sort of situation. I don't have to do chemotherapy, which in my eyes is such a blessing, it gives me hope. These anti-estrogen medications are through the roof expensive, making somebody very, very, very, extremely wealthy, and any person able to afford them is beyond me. I pray that through the grace of God, I am approved for grants to get the funding to take these medications, to stop the growth.

On day 3 of being in the hospital, an "Angel" Oncologist named Dr. Bustamante happened to be doing her "rounds" in the particular hospital that I was in that day. She came into my room, stood by my side, took my hand and said, "I know this is very scary, but I will be with you every step of the way. I know that you do not have insurance here in Florida, and I will get you set up with programs, grants and funding so you will be taken care of." ... She did exactly that. It is to my amazement and absolute gratitude. All of my Dr.'s visits and radiation are covered, and now I am just waiting for the grants to go through for my medications.

I have begun radiation to slow down/stop the growth of the cancer, I have 4 treatments under my belt, 6 more to go. I am realizing that this is pretty much going to be like gladiator training. (not only for me, but for my family and Scottie who have been by my side since day one, God bless them.) This is going to test every ounce of my body, mind, and spirit, in every way shape and form. I am hoping that at present I am going through the most challenging part of it, and with each day my bones and muscles get stronger. I know that my will to live is stronger than these cancer cells taking a trip through my body, and through both Western and Holistic methods, my cells will transform back into their most beautiful, brilliant, perfect state.

I can not thank my family and friends enough for showing up for me in ways I could have never imagined. I am so incredibly blessed to be with my family right now in Florida, they have done so much for me, and I don't know how I could do this without them. I am so blessed with the most supportive friends sending me prayers, care packages from afar, and flying in to help take care of me. You all have helped make this as comfortable as possible, and even in the face of adversity, it truly has been a blessing to connect with you on a deeper level.

I am finally and truly realizing the enormous amount of love and support in my life. Until now, I have never really allowed myself to absorb the love that has always been around me. I think this is one of the many lessons to come. Through this experience so far I have been shown so much love, and from people that I don't even know... this really helps restore my faith in humanity. There really are A LOT of GOOD people out there. So here is to absorbing the love from each other and from this world. Here is to not only surviving, but thriving.

Thank you all for being a part of this journey with me. With you, it's not so scary, and I know I don't have to go it alone.

With Gratitude
Love Always,
Beth
