Berkeley Homeless Population Under Threat of Napa Smoke
A red sun hangs over Berkeley, as smoke drifts into it's atmosphere. The smoke and ash settles down upon the city, covering cars, homes, and businesses. Wary of all the smoke, many people seek refuge in the safety of their home. However, not all people in Berkeley have homes and not all people are safe.
The Problem
Berkeley's homeless population is under threat of the carpet of smoke that is laying upon our city. While many have successfully found shelter, others still remain on the street, exposed to the hazardous smoke for up to 24 hours everyday.
Exposure to great quantities of smoke and ash is extremely harmful to the human body, and many people on the street are ill-equipped with the right tools to remain healthy.
What We Are Doing/How You Can Help
It is because of this, that I have gathered a group of students willing to help me distribute masks, water, and eye drops to the homeless people of Berkeley.
However, doing this is not cheap, and we can use all the help we can get! Your contribution will be directly used to purchase N95 breathing masks, water bottles, and eye drops which will be distributed to the homeless population this Sunday afternoon and next Tuesday.
Small donations go a long way, and Berkeley's community is in need of instant action. Be that action, and help our homeless community stay safe/recover from the the smoke!
Special Thanks to:
Andy Akins for donating 200 N95 Masks to distribute
Thank you for your support,
Soren W.
