Bennett's Village

$77,551 of $1.6M goal

Raised by 572 people in 13 months
Created March 2, 2018
On February 28, 2018, Rare Disease Day, the world lost a bright light.

Bennett Charles McClurken-Gibney had SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). He spent most of his life overcoming obstacles and raising awareness for how inaccessible the world is.

One of his greatest joys was to go to the ARC park in Richmond,  a playground that allows kids of all abilities to play together.  Help us build an all abilities playground for all ages in Charlotteville.  Let this be his legacy, so his light will continue to touch  others.

The ARC of  the Piedmont  has set up a special account for Bennett's Village and will be handling disbursement of funds for the all abilities playground. Kara McClurken,  Bennett's mom,  will  serve as the intermediary between the gofundme account and The Arc of the Piedmont.

If you would prefer to send a check, you may write a check to The Arc of the Piedmont, with “FBO Bennett’s Village” in the memo line. Checks can be mailed to:
Arc of the Piedmont, Attn: Bennett’s Village, 509 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902.

There is so much more to do and funds to raise before we can make this dream a reality, but we are so grateful for all you have done and continue to do to support us. If you don't already do so, feel free to check out our website at www.bennettsvillage.org, follow us on Facebook, and sign up to be on our email list/volunteer at http://bennettsvillage.org/volunteer/
