Hi! We are W.A.R. Theater, and we need your help.
Under the Artistic Direction of Co-founder and playwright Michael Johnson, we are more than one month into rehearsals for our next project - the professional premiere of "ben and trish." However, because we are a new company, we can't do this alone, and we are asking you to donate your hard-earned cash to our next (and future) Artistic endeavors.
"ben and trish." is the story of a young man in a mental hospital, reminiscing on the memories of his dead sister. It is a play about mental well-being, addiction, memory and loss. It was written by Michael Johnson, and first workshopped at Minnesota State University: Moorhead in 2014. Featuring Jeff Goff as Ben and Amber Morgan as Trish, not to mention a *fantastic* artistic team (Steve Soler as Director, Sami Dee as Lighting Designer, Stage Management by Nora Flaherty), this is a production we are proud to be bringing you this December.
W.A.R. Theater is dedicated to bringing our audience impactful, raw new work that combines dance, live music and theater in a dynamic fashion. Featuring original music by Minneapolis musicians Zach Briscoe and Elliott Heerman, we will utilize these tools,
and other hyper-theatrical elements (gesture, shadow, poetry) to bring you the story of "ben and trish." Given it's themes of suicide, depression, loss and mental health and given that the holidays are a difficult time for so many, we felt that *now* is the time to do this show
While our production opens in December, we need your assistance now to pay for some of our upkeep costs – rehearsal space, costumes, promotions and most importantly, our incredible Artists. Any gift you can offer is of tremendous, immediate importance to us.
