DECEMBER 2018 update:
A sincere THANK YOU to all who have prayed, encouraged, and donated on and off line! Benjamin and Becky are doing great and making huge strides towards the rebuilding of their new lives and home. The lot is cleared and clean (and even decorated for the season!) They have officially been approved for building a new home and the preliminary prints are inspiring. This verse from the prophet Isaiah keeps surfacing on this journey: “To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory” (Isaiah 61:3).
We are all excited to see what God will do with this new year!

Benjamin and Becky's house has completely burned to the ground in the California Carr Fire. Many of you have asked how you can help. Making a donation here is one way to encourage and support them as they arise out of these ashes and build a new future together. This selfie, taken at the helm during a family reunion, was snapped just hours after they learned about the fate of their house. Those smiles are real. They have courageously chosen to partner with the solid hope and joy found in Christ as they trust in Him moving forward each day. Whether in Vermont or California, Benjamin and Becky have generously allowed their home to become a safe harbor where community grows through shared meals, fellowship and even lodging for some.
