Beckett's FTM Prosthetics Fund
Donation protected
I will have to wait at least 4-5 years for NHS funded FTM surgery. I physically and mentally cannot do this.
Hi, I'm Beckett. I'm FTM (female to male transgender). I am currently have a 2-3 year wait on the list to even meet my NHS gender specialist. Then I must live for 2 years with the diagnosis of dysphoria they will give me before I can even get on the list for surgery.
Anyone who has been through anything similar will know what a toll this has on one's mental health and general wellbeing. I'm currently taking prescribed antidepressants and am still struggling to motivate myself enough to do daily tasks. This is risky as I am both a volunteer in a school and a penultimate-year BSc student.
If I could be just that one step closer to feeling at home in my own body... well, that would do me wonders. I want to be able to live a normal life as the person I am inside. I would be incredibly thankful for any donation, no matter how small. Every pound makes a difference. Every share makes a difference. Thank you.
I'm currently saving for the right prostheses (the one I have my heart set on is around £600). Anything over the set goal will go as a donation to Birmingham LGBT.
