A Miracle is Needed for My Son Danny

Dear family and friends.  Some of you know may know what has been going on in Danny’s life, and some of you may not know any details.

For over a year now, Danny has been struggling with non-stop headaches.  He went to his family doctor and they tried a variety of different types of medication to help him.  None of them worked, so he was referred to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor.  He recommended surgery on his sinus, so that was done.  Sorry to say the surgery did not relieve his headaches, so he was referred to a Neurologist to see if they could figure out what was going on.  He was given an MRI and they noticed a spot on his optic nerve.  He was referred to an Optometrist, but he said the optic nerve looked fine.  The Neurologist said there was a possibility of a Pseudotumor causing the headaches, so he underwent a spinal tap to see if that was the cause.  There was no Pseudotumor and the headaches persist!

During all these various doctor appointment and procedures, they had completed blood work on Danny.  I asked to see his results and was shocked when I saw his GFR (kidney function) was only 64% at the age of 30!  I asked him if his family doctor had mentioned this to him, and he said no.  Danny contacted his family doctor and brought it to his attention.  They ordered additional blood work, and the next test the GFR was down to 60%! It had gone down 4% in just four weeks!  His family doctor referred him to a Urologist to see what was going on.  They ordered a CT scan and noticed a cyst on his right kidney and a lesion on his left kidney.  They ordered an MRI with contrast, and then another CT with contrast. Both contrast tests indicated the lesion is solid and has its own blood supply, which was very concerning to the doctor.

I went to the Urology surgeon with him and Ashley today (8/21/19), and the surgeon indicated the lesion had a 25% chance of being benign and a 75% chance of being malignant.  Surgery is now scheduled for September 17 at 7:30 a.m. All of this while the headaches persist!

Danny is married to Ashley, and they have three little girls, Juliana age 9, Isabel age 8, and Addison 20 months old. Over the last few years, he has worked full-time while earning three degrees:  Associates, Bachelor’s, and Masters!  He is the sole provider for his family of five, and he works very hard and takes all the overtime he can get to provide for his family.

Danny has a really big heart and has helped so many people in so many different ways both family and friends.

I’m humbly asking for financial support to get him through this healing process.  He can’t afford to miss work and miss any paychecks. With love and support from all of us, we can get him through financially with his living expenses while off work, and his medical expenses that continue to stack up.

As a mother, my heart is aching with concern and love for my son.  Our children remain our babies no matter how old they are!  I thank you for your prayers and financial support!

May God Bless you,

Cindy
