Halifax Bruising Bandita's Skate Marathon
For anyone who doesn't know us, we're your local Halifax Roller Derby team. We're a full contact skating team who train twice a week and travel the country playing the game we love. Unfortunately all this requires hall hire, kit for newbies, travel and putting on games which costs us money, more money than we can sustain as a small but ever growing team.
In order to fund ourselves and keep the team going we try to take part in a couple of fundraisers a year to cover some of these costs. This year we've decided to undertake a grand feat - a marathon (on skates!)
As a team we will each be completing 26 miles at the Skatemania Roller Marathon in Preston on Sunday 15th May 2016. We're hoping to raise £1000 to go towards all the bits that keep us going. We also lend kit to people trying out Roller Derby for the first time and I'm sure our newbies would appreciate some new kit as the old stuff is getting a little bit worn, torn and smelly!
It it would mean so much to us as a small local team to be able to reach our target and be able to travel, pay for kit and host games without the worry of going bankrupt! Anything you can donate would be excellent and as a team we would be so grateful.
