Brynlee's Heart Surgery Fund!

Gabe and Caci were much like any other expectant parents excitedly waiting their newest edition but during a routine sonogram, their doctor told them that something didn’t look quite right with little Brynlee’s heart. They saw another doctor to get a second opinion and again they were told that something didn’t look right. They traveled from Lubbock to Houston to visit the Texas Children’s Hospital and learned news that would drastically change their lives.

You see, the doctors they saw in Lubbock were right, something wasn’t quite right with Brynlee’s heart… in fact it would turn out that baby Brynlee has a congenital heart disease that is classified by the presence of 4 separate problems with the left side of the heart called Shone’s Syndrome or Shone’s complex. It is so rare that from 1999 to 2009, there were less than 50 reported cases of Shone’s complex in medical literature.

Gabe and Caci were shocked by this diagnosis and absolutely devastated to learn that one of the first experiences baby Brynlee will have in this world is going to have to be open heart surgery. Additionally, they were also shocked to learn that they will be unable to leave Houston until Brynlee is delivered and more likely than not, they will have to stay for several weeks to months after her surgery for observation.  

Gabe and Caci are an amazing couple who have some of the kindest and warmest souls. Even though this whole process has been gut wrenching and hard, they have stayed incredibly optimistic and have kept their unwavering faith in God. All they have ever asked for are prayers for baby Brynlee and her big sister Brylynn.   

We, the family and friends of Gabe and Caci, are starting this account to help fund baby Brynlee’s heart surgery, hospital stay, and living expenses for their little family while they are in Houston going through this incredibly difficult time.
