Remembering the “Legend…Daedra Charles-Furlow”

This GoFundMe account has been established by former Tennessee Lady Vol basketball players, coaches and friends of Daedra Janel Charles-Furlow.

 We have been brought together with saddened hearts at our sister Daedra’s sudden and untimely death.  So many people have reached out to us and asked how they could help.

United as Lady Vol Family, we come to you with such heavy hearts to now ask your assistance in helping to defray the unexpected financial burden on Daedra’s loved ones of funeral and burial expenses for our Lady Vol Legend. 

Daedra aka “Train” was amongst the greatest to play the game of basketball.  

 As a Lady Vol, Daedra was one of only six Lady Vols to have her jersey retired. She played with distinction on two University of Tennessee NCAA Championship teams and was a former assistant of Pat Summitt at her alma mater. She was a two-time Kodak All-American, the first player in the SEC to win the Wade Trophy and represented the United States as a member of the 1992 Olympic Team.  A member of the fledging WNBA Los Angeles Sparks, the culmination of Daedra’s basketball career was her induction into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

 Please help us help her grieving family by accepting donations in lieu of flowers.  

 Ultimately, her greatest accomplishment is not awards or championship rings, it will always be as a Hall of Fame Mom to her son Anthonee Charles-Furlow, a loving daughter to her mother Helen, and a little sister to Danene.

 Funeral services will be held on Sat., April 21 at World Deliverance Temple, 27355 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127
