I am creating this gofundme on behalf of Ciarra and Mike for their newborn daughter.
Baby Miona was born August 30th, 2017 at a healthy 7lbs 13oz. Doctors noticed that she had a slight heart murmur and scheduled her for an ekg to double check and make sure everything was ok. After this was done sadly doctors diagnosed her with what is called TOF. Baby Miona and her mommy were flown down to UCSF with the preparation that Miona would have to have open heart surgery. After further testing, a correct diagnosis was made.
Baby Miona has been diagnosed with 3 heart defects. An Unbalanced AV Canal (AVC), a pulmonary stenosis, and a double outlet RV (DORV). She has a very rare set of defects that formed in utero by 9 weeks pregnant. There is no way to fully repair her heart, but there are surgeries designed to take away some of the work her heart is doing. In situations like this, in the best case scenario we are looking at 2-3 open heart surgeries to relieve her heart of how hard it is working. This will entail a lot of Dr visits to a cardiologist and her pediatrician for close monitoring as well as lots of stays at UCSF. The surgery times depend on her completely. They can start right away, or they can start at 3-6 months old. It all depends on her.
Since they will be having to make trips to Santa Rosa weekly, we are starting this in order to help raise money for travel expenses such as fuel, hotel's and food during the trips. Since Ciarra and Mike live over 3 hours away, this can get quite expensive.
If you are able to donate we appreciate it and even if you can't, please keep their family in your prayers and share this.
Please note all funds will go directly to Ciarra and Mike. Any additional funds will go to help them with any other expenses endured during this hard time.
I'm just praying for a miracle. Please everyone pray for a miracle. All the doctors keep telling us the odds are not looking good, but if she has even a small chance we're fighting.
Please continue to pray for this amazing little girl. She has continued to fight so hard and I know She can pull through. #fight4mia #chdawareness
For those who may not have seen, we are doing a drive through dinner and raffle. We will also be selling #fight4mia #chdawareness bracelets to help the family during this tough time.
