"On November 2nd, years of hard work paid off as I was able to make a significant investment in a down payment on a car, but 14 days later everything changed. While on a training trip for work, my car spun out of control on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, smashing head first into a cement barrier before continuing to spin and ending up rear ended into that same barrier further down the road.
The new car as well as much of the work equipment I was carrying was completely destroyed, but I felt fortunate to walk away from the accident with what I thought were no injuries. After a very uncomfortable night in New Jersey and a costly flight home, mild bruising on my abdomen as well as significant abdominal pain led me to the emergency room. Just over a full 24 hours after my accident, the trauma team at UPMC Presbyterian identified a life-threatening accumulation of 1.75 liters of blood in my abdomen as well as severe damage to my spleen and rushed me off to surgery. Fortunately, the internal bleeding was contained, but my spleen had to be removed. Their work has been referred to by many medical professionals as 'a great save' and I believe it was as well.
While I am extremely grateful to have life and limb intact with the exception of my dearly departed spleen, my finances have not fared nearly as well. As ordered by the doctors overseeing my care, I am about halfway through an 8 week hiatus from working all 3 of the jobs that usually cover my monthly expenses. Between high deductibles from both auto and health insurance, the totaled vehicle with thousands still owed on it, and the living expenses and bills which are piling up while I am unable to generate any income, my financial situation is becoming more and more unfortunate with every visit from the mailman."
We are asking to raise $20,000 to help Deanna pay for costly medical bills and time off. Her healing should be eased with comfort, not filled with stress about money during the holiday season. Any amount will help, you don't need to leave your name, but please share and help Deanna reach her goal
