Urgent help needed for Charlotte

Donation protected
Canine Coalition Rescue D.B.A.   AZ Mastiff Rescue was  contacted by the Humane Society to help an English Mastiff.
Rescue named her Charlotte.

Charlotte an English Mastiff  believed to be a stray was seen living off Grand Ave in Phoenix, AZ. For days many people tried to catch her, but the dog was always able to get away from them. The people trying to catch her were leaving her food and water, they even left  blankets out for her. Eventually a firefighter found her on the side of the road, but sadly she had been hit by a vechicle. The firefighter was able to get her to a vet, where she was stabilized, so she could be transported to the Humane Society.

Charlotte  had head trama, a collsaped lung, many lacerations, her leg was fractured with the radial head misplaced, she also has a Dermoid on one of her eyes which is known to be painful, so she will need reconstructive surgery on the eye lid. The Humane Society was able to splint her leg, and care for her lacerations before reaching out to AZ Mastiff Rescue to help.

AZ Mastiff Rescue was able to take her in, knowing she was going to need both orthopedic and opthalmologist specialist.
Rescue  named her Charlotte.

Charlotte will be going to our the vet this coming week to have her xrays seen and with the vets help we will decide the best course of action for her. It is our hope to be able to save her leg, and restore vision to her eye, but of course we will know more after her consulation.

For now we are keeping her as comfortable and calm as possible. She does try to walk but is only able to drag her leg, and we supect she has very little vision in her damaged eye right now, but again we are hopeful to be abe to fix both her leg and vision.

Charlotte who we think is about 2 years old is doing great considering all she has going on.  She is a little uncomfortable at times, and doesn't really want to eat much yet.  But her lung is healing nicely, lacerations have healed, we are keeping a very close eye on her with the head trama,  and we are hoping she will ready for at least her leg surgery right away, for obvious reasons we need to act fast.  We will update with the surgeries information after consultation with our vets and we have a full course of action for Charlotte .

She is such a sweet soul, so loving and just wants to be in the fosters lap and be snuggled.

Charlotte has a long recovery road ahead of her, before she will be available for adoption. Please do not fill out an adoption appliction for her at this time, but she could sure use your well wishes, good thoughts, prayers, good vibes.

AZ Mastiff Rescue is so grateful for any help on Charlotte's care cost, even one dollar helps. Her care costs were not something we could have expected or planned for, but we could not turn her away.

The dollar amount is a estimate from the Humane Society.  We do expect that to change a little, whether it goes up or down, we just don't know yet.  We will update the dollar amount as we know more about her leg and eye.  All monies rasied will go towards  Charlotte's care.

AZ Mastiff Rescue is an all volunteer rescue, we rely solely on donations to fund the rescue.
