José Andrés, our beloved son,  suffers a complex, rare, and severe childhood-onset epilepsy, known as Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. His health scenario is still more complicated, because he has been declared “refractory”(drug-resistant epilepsy), so no known medication helps to stop or reduce his more than 200 seizures/day.

Last February 10th, José Andrés suffered one of the most feared effects of epilepsy: Convulsive Status Epilepticus. José Andrés stays until now in Intensive Care Unit(ICU), the most expensive medical service.

On February 17th, José Andrés was submitted to a Corpus Callosotomy brain surgery, in hope to save his life and stop Status Epilepticus; surgery is not a cure, it is just a palliative support to his condition.

José Andrés is now in deep coma; he needs still a long time in Intensive Care Unit, before Physicians could give some prognosis regarding his brain damage.

Hospital, Intensive Care Unit and Physicians bills are very expensive; José Andres´ parents just have their jobs to live and take care of José Andrés; this situation overpasses their possibilities, and Private Insurance is not enough to cover medical bills.

Please, help José Andrés wake up, and when that happens, don’t let him find his family desperate because they can’t pay the hospital bills and the operation to which he was subjected. Your contribution will help Jose Andres have a better quality of life and recover from his illness, at least a bit. His operation will help stop his multiple daily seizures that don´t let him live a normal life.

Your help will be enormously grateful to save Jose Andres´ life, an angel to everyone that knows him.

**********************************************************************
