Ariel is a young man who deserves a break and we want to help him and his family out.
Ariel’s Mom isn’t doing so well. She’s in the hospital, terminally ill with stage 4 cancer. When her ill health meant Mom wasn’t able to work or pay the rent, Ariel, his Mom and his 13-year-old sister were evicted from their home.
Ariel’s sister has been placed in foster care, and Ariel is desperate to be with her, but her foster family are across the city which means he can’t see her as often as he wishes.
In the meantime, this amazing young man is working to make ends meet and provide something to his Mom and sister, while studying hard for his business major at Cal State Dominguez Hills. His dream is to get into finance and he hopes to intern at a car dealership.
But for now, Ariel is struggling to make ends meet. His financial aid is running out, and his future at school lies in the balance.
Ariel needs Angels. And we want to be those angels!
We hope to raise enough money to help Ariel and his sister with schooling and living expenses. Ariel also hopes to be able to pay for his mom's medical bills, supplies and her arrangements, when that time comes.
100% of the donations that you make will go to Ariel, through our non-profit, Badge of Heart. Founded by LAPD officer Ken Lew, Badge of Heart helps good, hardworking folk who are affected by personal tragedy, hardship or who are victims of crime.
In 2015, Badge of Heart held their first Turkey Drive, giving 500 Los Angeles families beautiful Thanksgiving meals. In 2016, we’re aiming to feed up to 700 families. Our recent Back to School event gave backpacks and School supplies to 400 children whose families can’t afford the essentials for their education.
