Axel surgery - urgent

Last week we took our one and a half year old puppy, Axel to the vet for what we thought might be a gastro issue because he was losing weight quickly, despite the fact that we increased his food. Next thing we knew, x-rays were done and a mass was found on his spleen that is so large, his kidneys can't even be seen on the x-ray and it's causing his intestines to move up into his chest cavity.
We won't know if it's cancer until it is biopsied, however it still needs to be removed immediately. It's growing FAST and taking all of his nutrients. The reason he's lost so much weight it because this tumor is taking everything from him - it's starving him.
The estimate from the vet was that it will cost somewhere between $1,600 and $3,000 dollars, depending on what they find once they get in there. At the advice of a friend in rescue, I created this with the hopes of getting some relief because we simply can't afford this surgery right now, as we are also caring for our 12 year old dog that has multiple tumors in her chest.
Axel has two kids that would be crushed if he can't be saved. As well as three canine siblings that would be pretty sad as well. We have tried to rescue as many animals as we could through the years, we've fostered so many. And now we've hit a wall. The vet wants to get him in asap! Anything at all will help.
