Lee Laughlin Funeral Expense Fund

Our very special and dear friend Lee Laughlin passed away last weekend. Lee was such a fun, caring and giving person who touched us all in numerous ways. Since Lee had very few blood relatives, there simply aren't enough funds to provide the funeral and burial Lee deserves. When you really think about it, we are all Lee's family.
This GoFundMe campaign is being set up to provide Lee with a proper memorial. A way for all of us to say thank you, Lee, for being that special friend to us. This is our opportunity to give back to the man who gave so much joy and friendship to us all.
After meeting with the funeral home, Greg Elzea has found a way to get the costs down to the more reasonable amount of approximately $12,000. With that new development, we have revised and now exceeded our goal!
Since we have in fact exceeded our goal, Greg Elzea and I, along with several other members of the Oklahoma freelance community, have discussed the creation of a Lee Laughlin Memorial Fund. This fund would be set up in Lee's name and overseen by an elected board in order to provide grants to those Oklahoma freelancers who find themselves or their family in financial trouble due to illness, accidents, disability or even death. In fact, Lee had actually discussed such a project with several of us in the past, but sadly none of us had acted.
If you disagree or would like some or all of your money refunded we will gladly do so.
