Awakening Hair Care Management System
Mission
Our mission is to bring greater awareness to the issue of women’s hair loss and alopecia. Alopecia is a real medical diagnosis and we hope to inspire women struggling with it to be proactive in managing their condition and seeking out alternative treatment options. We hope to be a beacon of hope to women diagnosed with alopecia through an effective management system of high-quality products alongside a sisterhood of shared experiences and understanding.
My Story
Imagine the most joyous time of your life…. new baby after a very healthy pregnancy, preparing to go back to work and then suddenly, your hair falls out within 6 weeks as if this was some bad dream or spell put on you. Well, I don’t have to imagine because it happened to me!
Clumps and strands of my hair slipped away from my scalp as I brushed my hair in the mornings. I thought it was just light shedding because of postpartum hormones…
It didn’t take long for the light shedding to become full-blown balding. Every day when I brushed my hair, such a high volume of hair came out with each stroke that I knew I wasn’t dealing with normal post-baby shedding. The bald spots began to spread.
One night, I was brushing my hair in the bathroom. So much hair had collected on the floor from just one brushing. I had a mental breakdown; I fell to the floor and cried.
If it weren’t for my sisters being there, I don’t know what would’ve happened. I immediately called them to help calm me down. They listened patiently as I talked through my tears and sweetly suggested creative ways that I could style my hair to camouflage the hair loss. They even offered to shave their heads in a show of sisterly solidarity.
The fact is that too many women suffer from alopecia in silence. I know because I am one of them. I understand the pain and frustration that sets in when you visit doctor after doctor, hoping for help or at least an answer as to why this is happening. I’ve felt the crippling anxiety that accompanies day to day events like the hairbrush sitting on the bathroom counter or even my own fingers brushing the hair from my face.
I spent the next few months experimenting with different hairstyles to conceal the hair loss. Bobs with an undercut, braids, weaves, wigs – you name it, I tried it. Then things went from bad to worse when I went back to work full-time. I knew I needed to find a better solution. I created the Awakening Hair Care Management System because I refused to suffer in silence anymore. I refused to accept a diagnosis that suggested nothing could be done. I refused shrink myself and hide under wigs and weaves, scarves and hats. Instead, I decided to empower myself through painstaking research, meticulous experimentation and, of course, old fashioned trial and error. It is a medical issue that cuts across every hair and skin type and impacts women of all colors and socioeconomic levels.
I am no doctor or hairstylist. I’m a regular mom with a regular job who knows what has worked for me. I know what it’s like to be forced to wear uncomfortable wigs and feel betrayed by one’s own body. I created the Awakening Hair Care Management System to provide a viable option to women struggling with hair loss and to offer them the comfort of knowing that they’re not alone in this journey.

What is Alopecia?
Alopecia is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks its own body, targeting the hair follicles. This attack results in the partial or complete loss of hair in places where it normally grows. For women, alopecia can be a devastating diagnosis.

The Awakening Hair Care Management System utilizes carefully-sourced, high-quality, all-natural and organic ingredients to nourish your body – inside and out – and promote healthy hair growth.

· Product Development and Testing: We are partnering with a professional chemist to further customize the ingredients and create a well-balanced formula.
· Manufacture and Distribution: We will leverage relationships with well-known beauty industry manufacturers and distributors to bring the Awakening Hair Care Management System to the marketplace, starting with the Hair Follicle Stimulant Serum.
· Marketing and Social Media Promotion: In addition to social media marketing, we will publish a companion blog and vlog to generate greater brand and alopecia awareness to our target audience. Social media engagement will also include a Facebook support group for women to connect and share their stories. We will leverage email marketing campaigns that provide women with relevant information about their condition and advice on how they can begin their journey to recover.
· Website Development: We will create a full-service website to serve as the home of the Awakening Hair Care Management System and key sales channel.
· Ongoing Research: We will continue to stay on the cutting-edge of alopecia treatment by continuing vital research into triggers of and treatments for the condition.
