A Van for Jen

This is Jennifer Remington. She has many roles in life. One of a mother, one of a wife, one of a daughter and one of a fighter. On August 15, 2009, her life changed forever. While on vacation with family and friends, she dove into the water at a spot that unknowingly was shallow. She instantly broke her neck leaving her paralyzed.
Since that day Jen has battled multiple surgeries, challenges and injury-related illnesses, always with a fighting spirit and a smile on her face. Six years after adjusting to her new life, Jen's doctors have cleared her to drive! Now, a new challenge begins. Jen needs a wheelchair accessible van to drive.
Jen wants what most mothers take for granted. She would like to participate in her children's lives, outside the home. Kyle is 13 and Anna is 9. She would like the independence to be able to take them to and from school, friends' houses and extracurricular activities. She would like to meet her friends for Bible study, lunches and general get togethers without having to be dropped off by her husband. Jen simply states, "I would love to be able to go grocery shopping or to the doctor's office on my own without my sweet husband having to take me everywhere. I want my husband to have his independence back too-not having to schedule his life around my schedule and needs! An accessible van I can drive would make our family life more like everyone else's and give me a renewed sense of purpose."
