As many of you may know my sister Monique, brother in law Tiago and nieces Avah and Braylinn were in a horrific car accident on Sunday June 24th. Tiago and Braylinn sustained minor injuries, however Monique did break her ankle in six places and will need surgery. She will be out of work for 8+ weeks. Unfortunately our baby Avah endured the worst of it. She is in the icu at Hasbro Children's Hospital in critical condition. She is suffering from severe brain trauma. It is going to take a miracle to bring our baby home with us. We need all the love, support, and prayers we can get it. Anything at all that you can do to help our baby make it home is immensely appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤

Today makes 7 weeks that we brought our baby girl home. ❤ Although we thank god everyday that we were able to bring Avah home, it has been very bittersweet at times. Reality has hit hard for my family that yes our baby is home, but she is not the same Avah. Caring for somebody you love with an ABI is like mourning that person every single day, but still being able to kiss and hug them when you miss them. It's being so mad that this happened, yet so thankful they're still alive. It's missing their adorable laugh, yet still having faith in god you'll hear it again one day. It's wishing you could hear one more I love you, but saying it to them instead so they hear you. We haven't given up hope on our Avah or God. She still has a long road ahead of her and we will be by her side every step of the way, fighting for her and with her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. And as mediocre as it sounds live every day like it's your last. Say I love you a thousand times, laugh and cherish every minute because we truly don't know what tomorrow holds. Thank you so much to everyone for the support, love and prayers. We truly can't express how much it means❤

After 9 long weeks in the ICU at hasbro children's hospital, we were finally able to bring our girl home yesterday! Although we finally have Avah in the comfort of her home again, this journey is not yet over. Avah still has a long road ahead of her and could still use lots of prayers. We are overwhelmed with all of the support and love she has received over the past 9 weeks and are so truly thankful for that. #AVAHCAMEHOME

Here are a couple photos from the big day.
P.S if anyone is curious why orange balloons for Avah it's because it's her favorite color

Hello Everyone,
It's been a while since we've been able to give an update on Avah. It's just been so busy being right by our girls side and preparing to take her home. As you all know Avah sustained an anoxic traumatic brain injury that has left her in a vegetative state. She is no longer in a coma and is able to open one of her eyes. She does have reflex movement in her arms and legs. Avah had a tracheostomy and gtube put in. She remains on a vent most of the time, but can breathe on her own without ventilation a few hours a day. The doctors don't believe Avahs condition will improve but we haven't given up on her or our faith in God to help her. Our family is in the process of being trained to take care of her and hopefully bring our baby home in the next few weeks. Our family can't express how much we appreciate all the love, support and prayer everyone has given us. We truly wouldn't have been able to get through this without it ❤
