Animation Rig for Autistry Studios

Dear Autistry community and greater autism community,
Please help us purchase the items needed to create a professional and portable stop-motion animation rig for our incredibly talented autistic students.
At Autistry Studios, we use projects to build relationships, executive functioning, and pre-vocational skills by leveraging interests to build upon talents and overcome challenges. Along with trains, maps, and Japanese anime we have seen a common interest arise among many of our students: stop-motion animation.
We can see this in a pull towards movies such as Wallace and Grommet, Caroline, Nightmare before Christmas, Gumby, and some of the Rankin/Bass Productions films. This interest has lead us to a number of 2D stop motion projects, produced mainly with an iPad and multi-plane camera that we built in-house.

We have a number of students ready to "up their game" to 3D stop motion projects. As with all Autistry projects, we want these films to have a polished and professional look, holding our students to the high standards that they are very capable of achieving. These projects will make use of tools and materials we already have at the studio to make detailed and elaborate sets – laser cutters, ShopBot CNC routers, tables saw, band saw, and all other variation of woodworking tools. We have researched the various rigs on the market and are basing our set-up on the one used by Aardman Studio (of Chicken Run, Wallace and Grommet, etc.).
We already have excellent cameras. The Rig will be a dedicated cart with two 4K monitors, computer, and professional animation software. We are asking for $3,600 to fund this project. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you for supporting the Autistry students as they bring to life their fabulous stories.
