3-Yr Bicycle Tour Around The World

After turning 33 years old with 15 years working in the kitchen, I was burnt out from not having a life, working weekends, holidays, long days and nights. The work-to-live lifestyle felt wrong and nothing turned me on anymore. I lost my passion for cooking and even became a cynical person, full of hate.
I decided to stop cooking about a year and a half ago to pursue my long lost passion for life. I chose to work on a sustainable farm in Hawaii and surf every day.

After 8 months of chasing waves from Hawaii to Mexico to California to Vietnam and Cambodia, I ran out of money, but I had finally found happiness.

I was happier and healthier than I had been in a while.

The change in lifestyle made me realize how depressed and unhappy I had been for the past four years of my career and my life.

I decided that I was going to sell my car, give up my apartment and sell everything I owned. I didn't know what I was going to do, but I decided I wag going to go on the most amazing adventure I could think of.

During the two months it took to sell all of my belongings, I thought about what would make me happy again. One day, I came up with the ultimate adventure: I was going to circumnavigate the globe on a bicycle.

Food and wine, languages, people, places, and history were my original passions in life and why I became a chef. I could not think of a better and more challenging way to get back to living life and exploring the world.

So I bought a bike, a tent, a stove and some gear, trained for a few days and took off on the road knowing full well that I would run out of money, but that didn't scare me as much as going back to my life before.

I needed something adventurous, something daring.
I started in Miami and rode through Flordia, Alabama, and Mississippi. By the time I got to New Orleans, I ran out of money. I knew this was inevitable, so I found work - any work. I mopped floors, did some landscaping in Lake Charles, LA, worked cattle ranches in West Texas, sculpted marble with Native Americans in Santa Fe, NM, cooked in kitchens despite my adversity to doing so, washed dishes and anything else necessary to keep going.

I was hit by three cars, with two emergency room visits and hospitalized once, almost losing my leg.

Still, I didn't quit.
Never will.

Now after spending some time in my former city of Denver and saving some more money, I'm ready to venture out again. I am heading to Alaska to cross the Pacific Ocean on a freight liner to China. I will then make my way through Asia, Europe and eventually back to the U.S. I can only assume it won't be easy to work in some places, as confident as I am that I will find a way, I am also not too proud to ask for help because I understand that no bridge of success is crossed alone.

So I am asking for help on my adventure. To help keep me going.

If you believe in what I'm doing for the sake of living life and finding passion again and would like to help me with my dream, then please do. I will be ever so grateful.

Thanks for reading and believing.
