We qualified for a Research & Development grant via the Australian Tax Office. Through no fault of our own the grant has been withdrawn and we have been asked to repay $200,000 (that includes interest!). The ATO has called in the liquidators and we are raising funds to rescue the car from the liquidator and to try and get the project back on track. WE NEED YOUR HELP.
This project is Rosco McGlashan and the Aussie Invader team's life work and we are determined (with your help) to break the land speed record of 763mph and push it to 1000mph.

With your help and support we can get this project back on track. View the latest updates at our Aussie Invader Facebook page.

We are taking the GoFundMe campaign down as it has been a great success and we have achieved our goal of getting the project back on track. We are working hard to get the car to start line, so please make sure you follow our progress via our Facebook page and newsletter updates. Thank you for all the support you gave us.

From Rosco and the Aussie Invader team.

WE'RE BACK IN BUSINESS!
The Aussie Invader Team is excited to announce to the world that WE ARE NOW BACK in full thrust mode after our recent issues with our Australian Tax Office has been finally resolved!

These past 15 months have been a nightmare for my team fighting an issue created by “experts” in their field of lodging R&D Grant applications.

So with that behind us, we need to now move on and blast full steam ahead and catch up from where we stalled, PRONTO.

I seriously need to thank all of the people who have supported out project from the bottom of my heart. Mark Read has done a brilliant job in starting our GoFundMe campaign which gave us great publicity and along with other external donations, allowed us to reach a financial settlement with the ATO. I would never have believed the support that we gained from this campaign and the donations from around the world that came in.

Saying THANK YOU to everyone for such great support seems so minor, but your support was inspiring and it came from all walks of life, mums and dads with kids and big mortgages, friends and family, other race teams, current 1000 MPH Club members coming to our aid again, pensioners, sponsors, law firms, and the man or woman in the street.

Also thanks to an "Australian Naval Officer from Canberra who understood our need for urgent legal /commercial support to guide us through the situation and who arranged free legal support from a Corporate Lawyer in Brisbane!"

Our great mates and opposing LSR teams the Bloodhound SSC and North American Eagle Team, Chuck Haynes Jet Dragster Team, Chris Spriggs and sorry if I have forgotten to mention anyone. Please take a look at our donations list on our GoFundMe page and the comments there are awesome. Thank you all.

Great message Graig Watson, who recently donated to our campaign at http://www. GoFundMe.com/aussieinvader
...I would hate to see this project die due to typical public service bureaucratic mishandling. Rosco has been working toward this goal for so long and has had so many roadblocks to overcome. A great Australian who ignores the naysayers and critics. Without the great dreamers and doers nothing would ever advance. Rosco deserves the chance to be the first Australian to hold the outright Land Speed Record and the first person in history to drive at 1,000mph. He has certainly earned his chance to give it a red hot go and has the experience, the know-how, the team and Australian records behind him to do it. All he needs is for the Tax Department and Government to stop getting in the way....and a healthy dose of good luck.

Read our latest campaign update...

G’day to all the great people who sponsor, support, follow and have donated to our project, with many who are doing all of the above.

I would like to thank everyone who has gone above and beyond to help us overcome a bump in the road with the Australian Taxation Office, meaning our project is currently in the hands of the receivers. The R&D tax incentive/offset that was initially approved and then withdrawn without my approval or consent, however we are talking with the receiver and hope we will have a positive outcome soon. This is a complicated matter, but commonsense will hopefully prevail.

The worldwide support and interest we have generated for our plight has left me astounded, mums and dads with kids, pensioners, existing 1000 MPH Club members, anonymous donors, old friends and opposition teams. All of these great people have backed us and you have all restored my faith and belief in what we are doing, as we do our very best to achieve the impossible for god and country.

The GoFundMe campaign has generated some real interest and some much needed dollars. We have raised close to $10,000 already and looking to raise a lot more in the coming months, with your kind support. Please share the GoFundMe link ( https://www.gofundme.com/aussieinvader) with your friends via email and social media, and hopefully we can get our dream back on track. You only have to read some of the brilliant, heartfelt comments on our Facebook page, to see the strength of feeling this project has generated.

We have also received hundreds of supporting emails from around the world and several generous offers for pro bono legal help from Eastern States law firms. Tania Waterhouse of Waterhouse Lawyers facilitated a great article by Noel Towell, which has been syndicated widely across the Eastern States, in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Canberra Times, to mention just a few.

We have had a steady list of visitors, all looking to support us, and several meetings on both side of politics, as this is not a political issue but a national one. Labor MP Matt Keogh is keen to help us, inviting myself and Mark Read to meet with him recently. Mark Read also met with a Non Executive Director of the Liberal Party and discussed it with Liberal MP Peter Abetz.

WA's Deputy Premier Liza Harvey also visited our workshop recently to discuss the project and the situation we find ourselves in, thanks must go to Liberal MP Jan Norberger for arranging this meeting.

Our great mates and friendly rivals the Bloodhound SSC Team were the first to contact us and offer their support and suggestions on how they see the best way for us to move forward. They prepared a letter of support for us, arranged by Richard Noble, Andy Green and Richard Knight which can be seen on our Facebook page. These guys are the salt of the earth and my team and I wish them all the very best for the huge job they have ahead of them in the coming year, and we live in hope that we can soon be in the race with them. Thanks BSSC you guys are legendary!

Our US opposition the North American Eagle Team were also on the job, offering us their support and asking who do we need to contact on your side of the world to help get you guys back on track. Thank you Ed, Keith and all of the mighty NAE team.

My team are hopeful that we will very soon have a resolution to this issue and be back at the grindstone and annoying the hell out of our opposition! As soon as we have a way forward to our current dilemmas we will let you all know!

Follow all our news on https://www.facebook.com/AussieInvader/

Many thanks,
Rosco McGlashan OAM and the Aussie Invader team.

Not sure why this didn’t show in the comment section when I did my donation…As an ex salt lake racer at Lake Gairdner (C-Pro Black XW Falcon @ 180mph 2002-2009) I have a lot to thank Rosco for, it was his track from back in the late 80’s or early 90’s that is used for the annual speed trials each year in March and without him running back then, salt lake racing may never have happened here in Oz.

Rosco. If I could pay the whole debt I would, sadly I am a retiree, have given what I can and hope the Australian public can get behind this, the Greatest of ventures. King and country are out the window so we want you to do it for yourself and U.S. The Ausie public. Good luck.
