G'day everyone,
My name is Luke Webb and I am Australia's current #1 Red Bull Crashed Ice Athlete. I am calling to the go fund me world to help get me to the next season of Red Bull Crashed Ice.
Background:
I have been playing inline hockey since I was 7 years old, and Ice hockey since 21. I skate aggresive inline and have a natural ability when it comes to racing.
I traveled across to Canada and USA to compete in the February 2016 Riders Cup (feeder races into Red Bull Series) and then the 2016 Red Bull Crashed Ice Saint Paul Final.
Finishes my first season were as follows:
Bathurst, NB: 71st out of 160 competitors
Sherbrooke, QC: 102nd out of 160 competitors
Mt Dul Lac Resort, WI: DNF due to equipment failure
Saint Paul, MN: 77th out of 90+ competitors
For a first season, these results were great as I was placing higher than other much more experienced racers.
Training for the next season is underway and pushing harder every session. The next season will be aimed at competing in just the Red Bull events over the world. Planned events so far are Munich, Saint Paul, Edmonton, Finland and a TBA.
The downside with living in Australia is the large distance between home/work and events. The money here will be used for travel to and from the events as I have accomodation organised with other racers to help keep costs down of the next season.
The season is expected to start in November and I am still working with current gear sponsors to help plan new jerseys and gear, so I am still working towards the best way to repay people that help with this season.
I will keep this updated over the year to keep everyone up to date and look forward to representing Australia again on the world stage.
It would mean the world to continue on the Crashed Ice tour as each season passes by, the event comes closer to becoming a Winter Olympic event. It would be a dream to participate on Australia's behalf.
