Riley & Ziggy's Vet Expenses

$1,720 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 48 people in 11 months
Hi Everyone.  A wild animal attacked our dogs this morning while we took our newborn and 2 girls to eat with Santa.
We have never experienced an attack of any kind involving wildlife or our animals here in Anthem, however, we are well aware that it does happen-- It just seemed unlikely to us as we have 3 large dogs (Ziggy is actually a foster we've taken on so her daddy can go ionto the military).  We were unfortunately very wrong. An animal got inside while we were out, and our dogs were in the backyard.
Long story short, and my own personal thoughts of what happened is that the bobcat (s) got in and surprise attacked Ziggy.  Riley then jumped in to help, and the fight continued for a while on the pool deck. All animals fell into the pool where the fight may have broken up.  Uninvited guest(s) left, and our dogs found their way out of the pool where they waited for us to come home.
We took them to Animal Hospital at Anthem where Ziggy showed signs of shock, both were obviously traumatized and beat up pretty bad.  The vet bill was estimated at max to be 5000.00.  This would be on the high end yet excluding an overnight stay.
I am setting up this account not only because we clearly can't come even close to being able to afford this unexpected expense (we are aware of the payment plans offered by our vet and willing to do this if need be), but also because these dogs are our family, and this is absolutely devestating to all of us.  I'm praying that with the donations from friends and family, we can rally and save these precious babies together.  We would be eternally grateful for any help that you are able to send our way.  If you are not in a position to help us out financially, we would be just as grateful for prayers and love to our pups.

We took both dogs to the vet yesterday for check ups and they are so excited at their progress! Both dogs are healing great and looking a ton better! Riley’s has an appointment in two weeks to get his stitches out and in a month or so, Ziggy will go in to have her broken teeth fixed. Doc wanted to wait until she is stable enough. Thanks again for all of the love and support coming our way!! Love you all for caring enough to help out!!

Ziggy is still with us today!!! Both dogs are struggling, but doing great. thank you everyone who has donated so far, prayed for our family, and shared our page!! We will be at home today all day with our girls, baby Marley, and the doggies, watching movies and nursing these guys back to health. This vet bill is a little less overwhelming with all of your support, and we can’t thank you enough! Oh, what a Miracle it would be to be able to walk into that office with full payment!! And what a blessing it is to have all of you in our corner! Thanks again!!

We just got home from the vet with both dogs. Riley’s vet bill was 1000, but the good news is he’s going no to be fine eventually- long road ahead. Ziggy was attacked first and most furiously, and unfortunately may not make it tonight. She’s strong and has a lot of support here at home. Her mommy is here as well (Ziggy is our foster) helping make things as easy as she can for her. Her vet bill so far is 2000. The amazing vets at Anthem animal hospital worked all day on these pups with so much care and love. We couldn’t have asked for better hands to guide them today. I have the 24 hour emergency vet number in my phone for tonight if need be as well. Please pray for them during these hours of need, and if you can donate to the vet bill, it would be so much appreciated.

We’ve had some folks asking about our other pup, Royal, who is fine and was apparently able to hide during the attack. Our baby girl Marley is doing great as well at 4 days old. Just a very unexpected twist in our crazy lives as of late!!
