Attempted Kidnapping $9.95 SAVED my friend's life

This story happened to someone we know just last week. A 23 yr. old young girl was a victim of an attempted kidnapping. She was at a public bus stop after work around 7:30 pm when a man approached her from behind and put her in a head lock. He had a knife and told her that she was going with him and not to scream. He began dragging her into the darkness. She was able to activate her stun gun that was on her key chain and begin the fight for her life. She used her stun gun and was able to free herself. She has 22 stitches but she is going to be ok, physically. Mentally, she is traumatized. They caught the man who did this, he just got out of prison after 12 years. He was charged with attempted kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. I am attaching the news stories below. I am keeping her identity private for her safety, since she will have to testify.
Stun guns are legal in North Carolina and most states. You cannot conceal them, but you can put them on a key chain, etc. She purchased it on Amazon for only $9.95 (VIPERTEK VTS-880). Pepper spray is another thing that everyone should have ready to use if faced in this situation. I hope this story raises awareness. This could happen to any of us and we should all be as prepared as possible! $9.95 saved her life!
She is a full- time student, works, and is a single mother of a one year old little girl. She has been trying to save for a car, so that she will not have to ride a public bus to school and work and so she will have safe transportation for her and her daughter. I know personally that this girl is a very kind, sweet, hard-working, and would do anything to help others. She has no idea I am doing this, it is a surprise. I want to help her get a car. She is currently too traumatized to ride public transportation, even an uber. Any help would be very much appreciated.
