Elementary School Robotics Program

Donation protected
We are seeking to raise funds to establish a robotics program at Leesburg Elementary School in Florida, for 4th & 5th grade students identified as "At-Risk" kids. Adult Mentors from the local community and various walks of life volunteer time each week to serve as role models that advise and coach students with school studies and appropriate behaviors. The Mentors also advise Students on the merits of valuing and respecting each other and their teachers including the benefits of becoming successful in their class-room activities.

Many students do not have access to computers or the internet at home. The robotics program will help them develop skills to solve math problems, design software solutions to operate vehicles, and gain the necessary mechanical dexterity to assemble robotic kits and follow instructions. We strongly feel that the program offers students a chance to explore topics that interest them, exposes opportunities they might not otherwise learn about, and also helps school faculty identify how best to motivate students on a more personal level.

Students will eventually make their way to middle school, and an entirely new program with similar goals and objectives will help keep the momentum up on what was started in elementary school. But, we need your help now to ensure our program is successful.

Thank you!
