We Are the Atlanta Basque Club (Atlanta Euskal Etxea)!
The club was formed on February 3rd, 2017 in the city of Atlanta Georgia. We are a grassroots, soon to to be non-profit, organization that focuses on Promoting, Preserving and Celebrating Basque Culture. We have many goals as to where want the club to be, but we have some short term goals which need a financial kick start. The first goal we hope to tackle is all our Legal fees which would allow us to be officially recognized by the state of Georgia as a Non-Profit organization. These fees total $375 dollars. Then we must submit our fees to the North American Basque Organization, which would allow us to be recognized by them and the Basque Government. This fee is $100 for the club plus $1 per each member. We also would like to raise money for things like:
- An official Building.
-Books to from a library on Basque Subject Matter
-Basque Language Learning Material(Books, CD's, Videos).
- Web site up-keep ( Runs about $120 a year plus domain registartion).
-An outreach innitiative to find more Basques in our Area
- Seminars with Paid Instructors in the following subjects:
- Basque traditional dances
- Basque Musical Instruments instruction
- Basque Language
- BAsque Pelota (Handball)
- Facilty rental fees for events and fundarisers.
- Food and Bevergae for Functions
- Paper goods for functions.
Any amount will contribute greatly to the forming of our club. We hope to see some of you in our future events.
