A Standing Ovation for Eric Jones

Eric Jones. How do you sum up a young man of his character, talent, poise, and heart? Maybe you don't. You just ask anyone who knows him and you'll recognize the qualities that make him a dear friend, brother, and father. I've known Eric for many, many years. In that time he became husband to Tascha, father to Micah and Aria (who I'm honored to call my godkids), and a well-known part of the music scene in the greater Savannah area. He's earned multiple college degrees, brought music to many corners of the coastal area, and tirelessly supported his family.


Chances are you already knew these things. What you might not know is that Eric was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of malignant cancer primarily affecting the lymphatic system. Over the past year Eric started experiencing increasing numbness in his arm, a sensation that ultimately proved to be a signal of a growing tumor and a major obstacle for his career as a pianist. He has now had that tumor removed and has already begun moving forward with an aggressive chemotherapy regimen to get cancer-free as soon as possible.

As I'm sure you know, chemo treatment isn't an easy road. For someone with a career like Eric's it means sacrificing work time. That's on top of dealing with treatment, recovery, and the steep cost of medical expenses - something I'm sure we can all relate to. So, that's where we come in.
