Major Ricky Carter, of the Miami-Dade Police Department, was seriously injured in an off-duty motorcycle accident on I-75, on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
As Major Ricky Carter rose through the ranks he has never forgot where he came from. He always takes the time to greet everyone he comes in contact with and is very personable. He has an infectious smile and personality. He is passionate about Law Enforcement and physical fitness. He is a dedicated husband, father, and friend.
As we continue to keep Major Carter in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, many have asked about organizing fundraisers to assist his family. We realize that even with insurance, there are many hidden expenses associated with such a tragedy; from doctor’s bills and insurance co-pays, to travel costs and lost wages for his wife and daughter, while they hold vigil at the hospital. Major Carter will be in need of modifications to his residence and in the near future will be in need of prosthetic legs. Please help a great man who has always been there to help others.
