Warning: don't scroll through the photos at the bottom unless you're prepared to see something awful. This is my 57 year old mother who is a bartender at Wild Bill's in Madison Alabama. All of the brownish "stuff" covering her in the photos is dried blood.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, 7/15/18, as she was closing the bar for the night, two men entered through the back door and viscously beat her. They pepper sprayed her, repeatedly punched and kicked her, strangled her, slashed her face, and broke bones, all for just a few hundred dollars. They left her there to die, soaked in blood all the way down to her feet.
She is beginning to heal after having reconstructive surgery to, essentially, put her face back together. She is facing many weeks of painful recovery, all without an income. The bar owners, who did not provide any type of security and made her close up late at night completely alone, don't feel they have any responsibility to help her during this awful time. They are reopening the bar and going on with business as usual while my mother suffers and has nightmares every night about people hurting her.
We are reaching out to the public in hopes that there are a few good souls still out there, people who might be willing to help someone who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. This could happen to any of us.
