Ashley's Canada Racing Fund

Donation protected
Ashley decided at age 8 she wanted to be a runner. Her dream is to one day earn a Sports Scholarship in America and compete in the Commonwealth Games.

Ashley is now 14 years old and has been very disciplined with her training schedule and this shows in her great results on race days. Her determination and passion will hopefully lead to achieving her goals.

Late last year Ashley received a letter advising she has been selected to compete in Canada in July this year. She was able to choose 4 track events and competed at 2 separate carnivals. As the cost of Ashley’s trip was quite expensive  and came as a surprise, Ashley was asked by the association to attempt raising funds by either donations of support or other means to assist. Being the healthy athlete she is, she does not believe its right to sell chocolates to raise funds for a sporting event so thought she would try Go Fund Me.

Ashley was so appreciative of all the support shown to her this year - it enabled her to compete in Canada with the confidence knowing people back in Australia believed in her. She went to Canada and medalled in all her running events. She came back with 8 medals and even broke a 1200m record over there.

Not only was the competition a great experience for Ashley, she came back a stronger, more focused and confident athlete. So much so, although track season has only just began here in Australia - she has already qualified for Nationals next year in the 400m, 800m, 1500m and 3km.

Due such great success, Ashley has now been invited to attend the meets again and represent Australia in Canada. So here I am asking, asking if you would like to show your support to Ashley and assist in the cost of her team uniform, accommodation, meals, and/or competition.  Due to the cost involved and making it more affordable, Ashley will be coming straight back after competition and not staying on with the team to have some down time at Disneyland and Universal Studios.

We have made a deal with Ashley - if she can raise the $3,000 she needs to compete in the competition, her family will pay for her airfare. So far she has saved $830 in her piggy bank and needs $3,000 more to reach her goal.

She realises how fortunate she is to be given this opportunity and understands every dollar counts. No amount is too small and would mean a lot to Ashley to see people believe in her.
