Jack Family Journey

$26,410 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 140 people in 11 months
Our sweet Ashley was involved in a car accident Thursday night (August 23, 2018) and suffered serious injuries.  She was transported to Denver Health and Hospital where it was determined that she sustained a fractured vertebrae at C6-C7.

She had surgery early Friday morning to stabilize her injuries, and an  Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion (ACFD) was performed from T1-C5.

She will undergo an additional procedure on Monday August 27, 2018 to stabilize the back of her neck.  She is conscious and responsive, but they are keeping her sedated for her comfort.

Ashley is paralyzed from the waist down but she does have limited mobility with her arms.  We are hoping,  after some reduction in the swelling of her spinal cord, that  she will regain complete use of her hands.

Our daughter is a strong young woman but has a long and difficult road ahead of her with additional surgeries, extensive rehab, and obstacles that we cannot yet even begin to foresee.

Please help support our family to battle through and overcome the physical, mental, and emotional challenges that we will all face on this journey to recovery.

Ashley's Journey Day 37

One of Ashley's goals that she has had since she was injured was to be able to come home for a day and attend her nephew Bradley's 5th birthday and his super hero party. Ashley was a honorary super hero for the day as she did meet that goal and was able to join us all for the festivities. We are thankful that Craig Rehab provides transportation services so that events like Bradley's birthday can happen.

Way to go Ashley for meeting that goal even with the infection setback last week!

Ashley's Journey Day 32

Ashley is back at Craig and super excited to be back at her home away from home. She is still under treatment for her infections and confined to her room but hopes to be out and about in the next couple of days. Thank you for the continued thoughts, words of encouragement and prayers. She had a special visitor welcome her home tonight...introducing Torrey.

Ashley's Journey Day 30

Ashley has had a slight set back this week as she is fighting a couple of infections and may have pneumonia in her right lung. She was admitted to Swedish hospital (which is next door to Craig Rehab) on Thursday because they could not get her blood pressure to stabilize. Her blood pressure is back on track now. The are now focusing on the infection piece.

We were hoping she would be able to get back the Craig yesterday but that will be delayed a bit.

Extra prayers and healing thoughts are much appreciated.

We would ask that she have no visitors until we can figure out the status of her condition.

So Ashley has officially started her rehab program at Craig this week. Today she had occupational therapy and physical therapy in her room. She will be busy between 9-5 Monday through Friday so she has asked that visitation be limited during the week. Visiting hours are open on the weekends but Ashley would like to receive a text so she can keep her schedule organized and be ready for visitors.

While Bradley was not too sure of Auntie's chair on Saturday, he totally enjoyed riding with her on it on Sunday!
