"Sometimes you can do everything right and things can still end up so wrong."

After a night out in with friends, Ashley Murray and her friend Blake called an uber in order to make their way home. Tragedy struck when a drunk driver ran a red light with excessive speed and hit their uber. The accident occured at 2:10 a.m. at the intersection of Artesia and Aviation in Redondo Beach. Blake is curreently in a stable condition and soon to be discharged, however, Ashley's condition is extremely critical and has yet to wake up. Ashley has sustained substantial brain injuries and has had multiple surgeries in hopes to minimize lasting brain damage. The length of her stay in the ICU is unknown but doctors and nurses are working tirelessly to bring our Ashley back to us as soon as possible.

Ashley was set to be graduating in June 2018 from the University of Arizona and heading off to nursing school with the dream of becoming a NICU nurse.  She is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and is loved by so many. She is a bright and positive person, beautiful inside and out. Her infectious laugh, smile and goofy personality charmed everyone she encountered.  She is a very loved daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend to all of us.

In order to minimize the stress and anxiety on her family during the holiday season, we ask for everyone's help to donate any amount to assist in her extensive medical bills for her current and future procedures during her long haul of a fight. We understand that money could be very tight during the holiday season but any amount can help and we ask that you PLEASE share this page with anyone and everyone you know on any platform that you see fit.

More importantly please send positive energy and prayers for the strength and recovery of Ashley Elizabeth Murray.

We love you more than words can describe Ashley. Keep Fighting! We will be here, always.

Directly below this sentence we will be providing continued status updates on her condition:

Thank you!

Sorry for not posting an update sooner, but a lot has happened over the past 5 months since the last update!

A few weeks after Ashley returned home in late May, she developed an infection, which resulted in the failure of her VP shunt, and she ended up back in the hospital from June 29th through July 17th. During this period, she endured 3 more brain surgeries, and was on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks!

Thankfully, Ashley has thrived since returning home in mid-July, and she has continued to receive outpatient occupational, physical and speech therapy on a weekly basis.

On October 16, 2018, her neurosurgeon cleared her to return to the University of Arizona to complete her final semester in the Spring of 2019.

Ashley and her mom will be moving to Tucson in January 2019 so that she can complete her studies and receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health in May 2019, and she can then move forward toward her ultimate goal of becoming a Registered Nurse!

Ashley and her family would like to thank each and every one of you for your generosity, as well as your prayers and good wishes, they could not have gotten through the past 9 ½ months without the love and support from each and every one of you!
