Ascia Rowes recovery.

As many of you don't know, Ascia Rowe was involved in a terrible accident April 30th, 2017. She is a 18 year old student, Mesa resident who attends Skyline High School. She is graduating this May, and has many honors awards as well. She was granted a Scholarship to GCU this fall with most of her tuition covered, and is extremely excited to be apart of the Lope community. Unfortunately, tragedy struck last Sunday. She was at the lake with a friend and slipped while walking along the mountain edge, she fell 30-40 feet at the scene hitting major rocks, cliffs on the way down and finally landed in the water. Only being with 1 friend she was stranded in the water for over 30 minutes, unable to move, unable to get out, a stranger and by gods grace a nurse that was nearby on a kayak helped her stay a-float until emergency services came. She was air evacuated out of the lake, with all this happening, she has suffered Major injuries. She has broken her Patella (kneecap), which resulted in a major surgery, as well as screws holding it in place at the moment, has multiple stitches in her right arm, had a surgery on her elbow, and has scratches and bruises covering most her body. She is also at high risk of infection due to laying in the lake water so long, along with the fact she lost skin & lost a majority of bone at the scene of the accident as well. Doctors have also stated she is is likly to suffer from Arthritis in the next 6months-2years(that soon). As i mentioned before Ascia Rowe is highly known in the East Mesa community, for her acts of selflessness as a vollenteer & always going out of her way to help others even strangers. Ascia is an Honors/AVID student at Skyline Highschool, a full time worker at Wendy's, And a christian believer and student leadership in her Chruch (Generation Church). She is graduating this May and has worked her entire life for this day, always having perfect attendance as well as maintaining a 3.8 GPA. Ascia Rowe will barely be able to leave the hospital by Graduation, let alone walk. The day she worked her entire life for, has been taken by a single accident. She will now be drowning in medical bills, just as she turned 18 and is about to start a new life in college.
Ascia has said she was praying the entire time falling as well as waiting for the first responders. FAITH is a HUGE part of Ascias life, she is a child of God. Above all else we beg you for prayers that she has a speedy recovery and a healthy adjustment to this setback. Any questions or concerns you may contact myself or our parents Kim Yeagley & Ivan Rowe.
Thank you.
