A Safe Backyard for Henry

Yoga Fundraiser for a Backyard for Henry
A little over a month ago, our lives turned upside down. Our little 5 year old boy was diagnosed with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma - a rare, malignant tumour - in his abdomen. It was incredibly good luck that Henry fell over onto his tummy and caused internal bleeding because it meant his tumour was discovered on the ultrasound. We were (and still are) in shock! He showed no other signs or symptoms of having cancer and yet here was this great lump in his abdomen.
He's already been through multiple scans and tests, as well as surgery, and is currently on week 3 of his chemo. He has got such a big battle ahead of him. And he's got no idea what's to come. The chemo and radiation will attack his tumour but it will also attack his healthy body too. His hair will fall out, he'll feel sick and his digestive tract from top to bottom will be affected. His immune system will be reduced so much that he'll need it to be artificially topped up. This means that he won't be able to go to playgrounds or socialise as often as he'd like. There are so many expenses we could list like hospital parking, fuel, car maintenance, daycare for his sister, etc. But those are things that Henry won't appreciate or care about. Instead, we were thinking it'd be nice to make him a backyard that he can play in without fear of injury or infection. Even little scratches can become infected and cause hospitalization because his body won't be able to fight the infection.
Yogalyptus has been simply amazing and offered to host a fundraising yoga event to raise money to help build a backyard for Henry. We're incredibly thankful to Justyna and are overwhelmed by the support shown so far.
We've always had plans to fix up our backyard but time and money constraints have always won out. Our backyard is a jungle. We've tried to grow grass but it's too shady and now we just have a lawn of dirt, sticks and rocks. We'd like to clear a section, redefine the garden edges and put down some synthetic turf. He's going to be stuck in hospital so much throughout his year long treatment and when he is at home, it'd be so nice for him to be able to go outside. His treatment doesn't require us to buy expensive medical equipment but this will certainly help him through some pretty awful treatment.
We're not sure how much this will cost yet, but any contribution will be greatly appreciated.
