Portraits of Petersburg Exhibit
Donation protected
I am an artist working in Petersburg. After working on Christmas decorations for the city, I wanted to follow up with an art project that would bring the community together and started the idea of Portraits of Petersburg.
This is a series of portraits of people who live or work in the city and at the end of summer there will be a large public exhibit. I have already signed up almost 50 people. Each portrait takes about two days. The money is for helping with studio rent and supplies while I am painting which will help me for three months.
As people sign up, a recurring question is how much will the finished painting cost, and I could see any number I say would be too high. I want to be able let them all walk away from the show with something to take home.
I am grateful I have the opportunity to put my dream of bring art to the community. If we make the goal, all donors who pledge $100 or more will be able to commission a portrait of their own for free as a thank you.
