Art Crush Post-Fire Renovation
Early on the morning of May 1, 2018, an accidental fire was started by an artist working on a piece of art at Art Crush Abilene: Studios and Galleries. The fire was isolated to one studio, destroying the artwork and contents housed in that space, and smoke damage pervaded the whole building. A rough estimate of damages totals $20,000. In addition, countless numbers of art pieces were lost in the fire, but thankfully no one was physically hurt.
ArtCrush is a community of independent artists who are in the formative years of their respective professional careers and who are seeking to establish financial security through their art as well as create a space to house the pursuit of artistry in all mediums.
