A New Kidney for Aron
We are in need of some help while he is in the hospital and following the procedure, as I am his primary care giver and neither of us will be able to work during that time.
We also would like to help his amazing donor with time lost at work and any other expenses she may need while she recovers from donating such an incredible gift.
It is difficult to ask for help, as we'd like to be able to handle this ourselves, but we are out of options really.
Any money donated that exceeds our needs will be donated to a charity that benefits organ donors and transplant recipients. Please, help us reach our goal.
Thank you so much!
Malissa & Aron
His levels have been good. His urine output has been great. His Creatinine levels have been hovering around 1.1 to 1.2. Normal levels in adult males are around .7 to 1.3. His Creatinine did get down to .9 while he was in the hospital (the lowest it has ever been, even with his first transplanted kidney). Docs say it is normal for those levels to elevate and fluctuate, slightly, especially in this early transition period.
It has been a good recovery process, for the most part. I am looking forward to being able to slowly start work, again, next week. :)
Hope the start of 2016 has been good to all of you! Thank you again for all of your support. It will not be forgotten.

Aron is recovering nicely and gets stronger everyday! We should be hiking the hills of California, in no time. ;)
Today, January 6th, is a date that marks the celebration of the day my love entered the world! <3 <3 <3
Aron has changed my life in ways I never could have imagined... in the best possible ways. When we met, it was as if something clicked. It sounds cliche but I knew right away that this man would play an important role if my life. I could see a future with him.
Nearly two years later and that future is here and I wouldn't change a thing.
He is loving, intelligent, funny, charming, passionate, giving, strong, sensitive, honest, and full of surprises.
He is my angel. My partner. My California.
I look forward to many more birthdays together. More years of laughter and adventures. I look forward to our journey together and hope that it continues for as long as we both draw breath.
I love you Aron, by your side is the best place I could ever be. Happy Happy Birthday to you!!! <3 <3 <3
I got to the hospital to find Aron bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Everyday he seems to get a little better. <3
Looks like he may be able to come home Monday or Tuesday. Then we will have to drive down to UCLA multiple times a week so they can check his labs and make sure his new kidney is still happy in its new home.
Those days will certainly not be "sleep in" days, as we will have to get here around 6:30am. Oiy vay!
It's okay. Anything to help Aron get better. :)
Have a great, sunshiny day!!
Sometimes in life we don’t quite realize how much love is really around us. Sometimes we don’t realize how many people really care about us and how big the heart of the human spirit really is. Sometimes it takes a tragedy for one to experience that, to be reminded of that love and support, for a community to come together to offer that support and love. Well, this is exactly what I have been experiencing the last 4 months. I’m absolutely amazed at the love, support and generosity that we have received in the last few days. It really just blows me away. Four months ago when I went through kidney failure, there was an outpouring of hope, kindness, prayers, well wishes and good thoughts as began this new journey. I was scared, I was emotional and I didn’t know what was going to happen. I couldn’t have gotten though it without Malissa and my family. But I also had lot of love from my Star Trek family and friends too! All of your messages and posts of encouragement and love was really quite powerful. It helped me a lot and helped to get me through everything I was going through. It meant the world to me!! Four months later, I find out that my donor is a match and I will be having my new transplant on December 29th. And once again, my Star Trek family here swarmed in with their love and support. It was overwhelming and beautiful! Then we released our Gofundmepage, and the generosity was astounding!!! So many people helped out with sharing the page, donating, “liking”, and wishing us all the best, that within two days, we are half way there to taking care of our living and medical expenses while I go through the transplant and Malissa takes care of me. All of you are making that possible in one way or another!!! For all of you to help, share, offer words of encouragement, to come together on our behalf, is just absolutely one of the most incredible experiences of love I have ever felt and been a part of in my life. I’m just blown away and I’m really finding it difficult to articulate the gratitude I feel right now. I’m so blessed, fortunate and honored to be part of this world, to be connected to all of you and you will forever be connected to me for what you have done for me. Thank-you so very much for helping me out, for helping us out, for helping my family. This generosity, this support, will never be forgotten, it will always remain close to my heart and I hope that one day, someday, I will be able to say thank-you to each and every one of you eye to eye, in person. And If not, please know, right now, how all of you have now touched my life and made a difference in my life. Thank-you so very, very much!!
Remembering that precious baby in the photo above. We are your Dad's cousins and although we haven't communicated since your teens, you have been in our thoughts & prayers. Hoping everything goes well for you & your donor with a smooth recovery so you can get back to doing all the things you love.
This update was such a fantastic way to start the day. I'm so happy everything went well yesterday! All the best!
Wonderful news - really pleased for all 3 of you!
I'm so happy you were able to raise enough for the procedure. Just keep your head up and don't end up spending days in the Holosuite with Vic Fontaine again okay!
Dear Aron: From Buenos Aires, Argentina, me and my family wish the best for you, and a very big hugg for Beth and for all the doners througout the world.
Happy to help! Blessings and love from all of us at Trek.fm !
I am so glad funds were accomplished and more are being contributed, good luck and my heart goes out to Aron and Beth bless her for her contribution of life, best of health to both in the days to come
Great to see that the target of $10k has been met, and just a few days before Christmas as well. At least Aron and Malissa can rest easy knowing that things will be a little easier with the Great Exchequer having provided for them.
